Oils, Pastels, Mixed Media

Being a highly qualified further and higher education teacher, my main role within the Art Group is as their professional drawing and painting tutor, a service I provide as a benefit for members.

I work to a professional standard in my own artwork, and a fair proportion of it is donated to worthy institutions.

I do not have an all-consuming interest in one particular genre or subject area, but currently I am trying to develop work of a figurative nature but with definite abstract qualities - almost like trying to square the circle!

I run classes for members on the first Wednesday of each month - or on demand.

I have always been interested in art, and won prizes for my work at an early age. Although (in all modesty) I am a natural artist and very largely self-taught, I nevertheless do possess formal qualifications in the sphere of Art and Design and Interior Decoration, and I have undertaken work on such projects as large mural painting, trompe l'oeil and specialist paint effects. In addition, as part of my first honours degree studies, I undertook options in Art Theory and Analysis, and so am able to impart knowledge in these areas also.
