Todmorden Art Group is non-profit making and is run voluntarily by local artists to promote interest in the arts in Todmorden. If you are interested in joining the group, please apply to the Gallery or print an application form here. The group is run from premises on Platform One of Todmorden Railway Station. These were used many years ago by the Railway Company, but have in modern times become redundant. On the premises we have an Art Gallery, which can be hired by artists to show their work on a monthly basis. Admission is free to view these exhibitions from Thursday to Sunday throughout the year with the exception of the Christmas period and January, when the Gallery is closed for essential maintenance. The opening times are 11a.m. to 4p.m. If you are interested in holding an exhibition at the Gallery, please apply to be put on the waiting list for space. There are three special exhibitions in the Gallery - an Open Exhibition each April, a local schools' exhibition each June and the Art Group exhibition in December. Other rooms on Platform One are used as Artists' Studios, of which there are eleven. These are open to the public at various times or can be viewed on application to the Gallery. Each year on Saturday and Sunday at the beginning of November, the Group holds an Open Exhibition in the ballroom of the beautiful listed Todmorden Town Hall, when artists both local and from further afield can, for a nominal amount, hire a screen or table to display their work. There are also painting and textile groups meeting in the Gallery and further details of these are available on request from 01706 816070.
